3. Minutes of previous meeting:
Minutes of previous committee meeting were agreed and a cut down version will be put on website once checked by Kevin Robson.
4. Matters Arising:
There were no matters arising.
5. Regional & National Report:
Kevin Robson reported that a Communications Centre Managers Course was held on 4th June which was reasonably well supported with around 50 people attending. Presentations included were from Sir Edmund Burton – Cabinet Office, Olaf Baars – Royal Berks FRS, Ian Readhead – ACPO Criminal Records Office, Paul Bassett –Ambulance Service, Peter Kennington – Highways Agency, Nick Welsh – Cabinet Office, Chris Morgan – Airwave, Paul Kinsella – NPIA, John Medland – BT & Kevin Robson – NE FireControl. Feedback in general was positive with 85% saying they would attend another similar event. The day was a bit too full so agenda would need to be shortened and it was suggested that sessions just be in the morning with open discussions during the afternoon.
We would look to run a similar event in February 2010.
Kevin Robson gave a national report as follows:
a) Alan Murray has stepped down as Vice President and his place has been filled by Hayden Newton of Ambulance Service.
b) BAPCO 2009 – Down slightly on delegates. Some new exhibitors were there. There were approx 430 people in attendance at the dinner.
c) NARTUS funding is still owed to us. NARTUS has formally ended now.
d) CHORIST project has now finished.
e) 2 Further projects we have been invited to join are CONTEXT and SAFE.
f) Resilience Communications event at Easingwold – there may be another at the end of this year.
g) The AGM was held during BAPCO 2009.
h) The annual Chairs/Secretaries meeting will take place on 23/24 September.

A thank you was given to Ian Thompson in his absence for agreeing to stay on the committee.
7. Event Programme
It is proposed that an event will be held in November at the FireControl Centre in Durham. Similar to the SW event about FireControl and Regionalisation – Critical National Infrastucture.
A proposal is to be put together by Gordon Ross, Terry Johnson and Kevin Robson and then put to the committee. Input on E999 is to be included during the day. Around 40 delegates is the aim.
8. AOB
It was agreed that the regional action plan would be re-visited by the committee at the next meeting.
A tour of the building was given by Kevin Robson.

October 7th – Newcastle Racecourse (following on from National Roadshow)
