As a not-for-profit, user led association with charitable status, British APCO is required to have Trustees who form the Board of Directors who are responsible for the organisation.  All our Trustees are volunteers who have demanding day jobs within the Public Safety world.  We are grateful to them and to their employers for allowing them the time to perform these roles.

The Board is headed by the British APCO Chair who is assisted by the Vice-Chair.  Being Chair of British APCO is an honour as well as a responsibility.  Board members are appointed to the role for a four year term; any member of the association may apply to join the Board when a vacnacy arises as long as they have the support of their own organisation for the role and the commitment.

The Directors are supported by the Chief Operating Officer - and, a soon to be annouced, group of advisors from across the industry.  The advisors will perform an important role by providing assistance and advice to the Board and COO when necessary, particularly in relation to topics for events and other media.  They also have an important role in environment scanning and keeping the Assocaition informed of upcoming issues and opportunities based on their particular and often, specialist, knowledge of the sector.

Please visit the Past Presidents and Chairs page to see the people who have performed the role and the Life Members page to see those considered as having made an outstanding contribution to British APCO.
