A message from BAPCO CEO, Ian Thompson. Monday 17 August 2020:
This morning, after consulting with colleagues, I took the difficult decision to cancel our BAPCO Satellite Series event due to take place at St James’ Park, Newcastle in November.
Like all of you, we have been monitoring the situation across the country and around the world for many months, doing whatever we can to help stop the pandemic and assist our Key Worker colleagues. We had hoped that the easing of restrictions on travel, events, working and socialising would have given us the opportunity for this popular and successful event to take place once again. However, given the uncertainty of the situation, the restrictions still in place and the demands on many BAPCO members and would be delegates, bringing you together for an event would not be the right or sensible thing to do.
I’m sorry to disappoint those who have already registered as well as our commercial sponsors and supporters but I’m sure you understand the situation. We’ll be in touch where necessary to discuss your options.
