telent are looking for a vehicle technician able to assist us in maintaining the Communication systems in front line support vehicles in London.

Role Profile

You will be required to undertake planned maintenance and fault rectification on a range of communication systems in Emergency Service vehicles. 

Based inside the M25 the prime role will be maintaining the London Ambulance Fleet, ensuring vehicle downtime is kept to a minimum.

The work is undertaken on customer premises and within our designated workshop in Canning Town. You will be required to participate in a 24/7 shift on a 1 in 4 basis upon successful completion of training.

There may be times when you are required to travel and stay away assisting on other installation work supporting the wider field engineering team on other contracts.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of Mobile Data Terminals and GPS systems for new builds as well as the existing fleet.

You will need to ensure you maintain your spares efficiently and the movement of assets between maintenance stock and the designated vehicle in order to be as efficient as possible.

Business Operations Skills - Experience

  • Experienced in Vehicle Installation in a Blue Light Environment desirable
  • Familiar with multiple vehicle types from car to HGV
  • Able to install in a timely manner to meet the customer expectations
  • Installation experience with TETRA and Mobile Data Solutions desirable

Business Operations Skills – Qualifications

  • FITAS FCS1362 Accredited
  • Good IT skills
  • City & Guilds/NVQ in electronics
