Establishment of a new Industry Specification Group (ISG) on Encrypted Traffic Inspection (ISG ETI)

Establishment of a new ETSI Industry Specification Group (ISG) on Encrypted Traffic Inspection (ISG ETI).

ISG ETI aims to: 

  • Define requirements and identify use cases of ETI techniques to mitigate against threats to networks and users arising from the deployment of encrypted traffic.
  • Frame the security concerns arising from widespread adoption of encryption by default in networks.

ISG ETI on the Portal

The Terms of Reference (Annex A of the present CL), the ISG Agreements and the current list of ISG ETI Members and Participants are available from the ISG ETI General Information section of the ETSI Portal.

As with all ISGs, information on the Work Programme and future meeting dates are available to all ETSI members on the ETSI Portal, and all published Group Reports (GR) and Group Specifications (GS) are available for download by the public free of charge. 

ISG ETI Participation

Participation in the ISG ETI is subject to signing the relevant ISG ETI Agreement.

ETSI Full and Associate members who wish to apply for ISG ETI membership are kindly invited to read and sign the ISG ETI Member Agreement available from the ISG ETI General Information section of the ETSI Portal.

ETSI Observers and non-ETSI members are also invited to join the ISG ETI subject to reading and signing the ISG ETI Participant Agreement available from the ISG ETI General Information section of the ETSI Portal and paying a per-meeting fee.

ISG ETI Kick-off Meeting

The Kick-off Meeting (KoM) of ISG ETI is planned to take place online on 10th June (KoM Invitation in Annex B of the present CL).

ISG ETI Chairmanship

The Call-for-Candidates for Chairmanship and Vice-Chairmanship is open and available in Annex C of the present CL.

Persons who wish to stand for candidates fulfilling the requirements for chairmanship as per the ETSI Directives, are kindly requested to submit their candidature to ISGsupport@etsi.org.
