The What Works Centre for Crime Reduction is helping the Police and Crime Commissioner for South Yorkshire to procure research on police problem-solving. We are sharing this to see if any of our commericial members are interested in submitting a bid for this work.

South Yorkshire received police transformation funding from the Home Office to deliver a national programme of work on problem-solving and demand reduction by the end of 2019/20. As part of the research and evaluation work stream, South Yorkshire is looking to appoint one or more suppliers to:

  • carry out a multi-site mixed-methods study that explores how problem-solving is currently being implemented by forces and their partners
  • develop a practical guide based on that study to help forces to implement problem-solving
  • evaluate the implementation and perceived impact of the overall programme and consider what impact it might have in the longer term

South Yorkshire plans to issue an invitation to tender for the above work via the BlueLight eTendering portal over the next few weeks, so interested suppliers are strongly encouraged to register if they would like to submit a bid.
