Tony Bracey

Head of Programmes, Community Safety Division, Welsh Government

After six years on secondment to the Joint Emergency Services Group (JESG) Wales, Tony has returned to Welsh Government as Head of Programmes within the Community Safety Division. Tony has been instrumental in the establishment of the Multi Agency Information Transfer (MAIT) Project across the UK.  The MAIT project facilitates the secure electronic sharing of incidents between Emergency Services which, in time, can be connected to other secure data stores and be extended to other Responder agencies.

Tony’s very personal commitment over recent years to not only the MAIT Project but other information sharing projects has challenged thinking around information sharing particularly the identification of vulnerable citizens in the planning and response to major incidents.

Tony was instrumental in the Welsh Emergency Services being some of the first Emergency Services in the UK to underpin their Command and Control Systems with the Governments address dataset (NLPG) which uses the Unique Property Reference Number (UPRN) ensuring accurate addressing data supports the information exchange.
