The Control Room Awards

At British APCO we are passionate about working to improve emergency services and public safety communications and information technology for everybody’s benefit - and we are delighted to be one of the supporters of the annual Control Room Awards. These Awards are so important in recognising the people who work in our critical control rooms using tech day in, day out to do their fantastic work as best they can. It’s why we sponsor The British APCO Control Room Innovation Award that recognises an individual – or a team - who has made a tangible difference through taking a unique and/or innovative approach with the tech that is being used in the control room.

The Blue Light Show

Towards the end of 2025 we were delighted to announce a partnership with The Blue Light Show for their 2026 event which is on 1 & 2 July.  As part of this collaboration, British APCO will curate a dedicated education programme within The Critical Response Theatre, bringing expertise in public safety technology, IT and communications to the heart of the show’s educational content.

British APCO’s mission aligns perfectly with the purpose of The Blue Light Show – to bring the sector together to share real-world solutions, improve operational effectiveness, and explore innovation that genuinely supports first responders,” said Carmela Coop-Rodia, Director of The Blue Light Show. “Their user-led expertise and commitment to improving emergency communications will elevate the quality and relevance of our 2026 content programme.”

We also believe that The Blue Light Show provides our membership the opportunity to better explore everything to do with the Emergency Services – both from an Expo and Conference perspective.  Across the seven theatres there is a rich variety of content – with some of the key sessions being delivered by leaders from across the services.
