As a not-for-profit, user led association with charitable status, British APCO is required to have Trustees who form the Board of Directors who are responsible for the organisation. All our Trustees are volunteers who have demanding day jobs within the Public Safety world. We are grateful to them and to their employers for allowing them the time to perform these roles.
The Board is headed by the British APCO Chair who is assisted by the Vice-Chair. Being Chair of British APCO is an honour as well as a responsibility. Board members are appointed to the role for a four year term; any member of the association may apply to join the Board when a vacancy arises, as long as they have the support of their own organisation for the role and the commitment.
Meet the British APCO Board of Trustees
British APCO is also working with a group of advisors from across the industry. The advisors perform an important role by providing assistance and advice to the Board and Chief Operating Officer when necessary, particularly in relation to membership and topics for events & other media. They also have an important role in environment scanning and keeping the Association informed of upcoming issues and opportunities based on their particular and often, specialist, knowledge of the sector.
Association Day-to-Day Contacts
The Directors are supported by the Chief Operating Officer and an Association Support Officer; a team looking after Membership and the day-to-day running of the Association from Support through to Finance; and colleagues who manage our Annual Event and the BAPCO Journal. Past Presidents and Life Members
Over our 30 year history we have had the privilege to be led by key individuals from across Public Safety here in the UK - and there have been many others who have made significant contributions to our continued success who have been recognised through the award of Life Membership.
Please visit the Past Presidents and Life Members page to see the people who have performed the role and those considered as having made an outstanding contribution to British APCO.
